Dear friends, season greetings to you all.
My name is Purvish Shah. I am a student of MBA at V. M. Patel institute of management and currently pursuing Marketing in Sem III. As part of my internship project, I had undertaken my project at National Innovation foundation, Ahmedabad.
National Innovation foundation is an organization, which does the work of recognizing, rewarding and respecting the Grassroot innovations. As an internee, my task was to carry out the Benchmarking of various innovations that were given to me by NIF. I also worked on preparing a business development plan of one Grassroot innovation called the solar mosquito destroyer.
Solar mosquito destroyer is an eco friendly mosquito killing device, which requires no electricity to operate. This device is made by Mr. Mathews from Kerala.
During the course of my training, I visited Kerala in order to meet various innovators and to carry out the documentation of some new innovations. I happened to met Mr. Mathews, the innovator of Solar Mosquito destroyer. I also met other two innovators in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
When I visited those places, the major problem that I faced was the food and language problem. I got to learn many new things by meeting the innovators personally, probing them about their innovations, meeting the customers in some surrounding areas, etc. The very interesting thing was that, these people were not aware of the language that I was aware. I had a tough time interacting with them.
But after all, being a good manager, I managed to interact with those guys by understanding their body language, their gestures and the non verbal cues.
I also made a presentation of the same project at a National Level Summer Project competition at my Institute. The event was called Pratibha and here you can myself presenting at PRATIBHA.
